Contraception of fallow deer

At first glance it would seem that contraception would be a more humane and viable option for eliminating an invasive deer species from Sidney Island.  Deep and careful consideration of this alternative has been given to this. Unfortunately, contraception is highly invasive, expensive and impractical on an operational basis on a wild population.
